What is Incone 600 material

Nickel-chromium alloy--- INCONEL600

INCONEL600 is the standard engineering material for corrosion and heat resistant applications. INCONEL600 is featured with excellent mechanical properties, high strength and good processability.

The high content of nickel makes the alloy resistant to many organic and inorganic compounds, while at the same time making the alloy fundamentally reject to the cracking  and corrosion by chloride stress . Chromium has the ability to withstand sulfide and high temperature oxidation conditions or corrosive solutions. The alloy cannot be sediment enhanced, and its hardening or strengthening can only be achieved by cold-working.

The versatility of the INCONEL 600 makes it suitable for a wide range of temperatures from low temperatures to 1095 ° C (2000 ° F). Due to the high strength and corrosion resistance of INCONEL600 nickel-chromium-iron alloy, it has been widely used in chemical industry, including heaters, distillers, bubble columns and condensers in fatty acid processes; evaporator tubes and tube sheets in sodium sulfide manufacturing processes. And tableting discs; rosin acid processing equipment in pulp manufacturing.

The high temperature strength and oxidation resistance of Nichrome have made it useful in many heat treatment industries. INCONEL600 Nichrome is used in kettles, Mafu, rolling furnace walls and other furnace components and heat treatment blues and trays. In the aerospace sector, INCONEL 600 is used in a variety of engine and fuselage components that are subjected to high temperatures. For example: lock lines, exhaust linings and turbine seals.

INCONEL 600 is also used in the electronics industry such as cathode ray tube holders, thyristor grids, tube support diaphragms and springs. INCONEL600 Nichrome is the standard material used in nuclear reactor construction. Nichrome has excellent resistance to high purity water corrosion and no signs of chloride stress corrosion cracking in the reactor water system. In nuclear applications, the alloy is produced to exacting specifications and is designated as INCONEL 600T alloy.

INCONEL 600 mechanical properties

Depending on the form and condition, INCONEL 600 can achieve a wide range of strength and hardness. In the annealed condition, the alloy exhibits a medium yield strength range of 25,000 to 50,000 psi (172 to 345 MPa).
In this strength range, with an elongation of 55-35%, the material is not difficult to process. However, large cold deformed materials can have a tensile strength of 220,000 psi (1517 MPa).
