The Use and Maintenance of Pneumatic Valves

The Use and Maintenance of Pneumatic Valves

Pneumatic valves are valves driven by compressed air. When purchasing pneumatic valves, it is necessary to specify the specifications, types, and working pressure to meet the purchasing requirements, and they can be used to control various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metal and radioactive media. The specifications of pneumatic valves are not complete, because there are different innovations for the pneumatic valve under the concept of unified design of pneumatic valves for product competition, forming different corporate standards and features. Therefore, it is very necessary to put forward technical requirements in detail when purchasing pneumatic valves, and coordinate with manufacturers to reach a consensus as a part of the purchase contract of the pneumatic valve.

The compressed air is used to push the movement of multiple sets of combined pneumatic pistons in the actuator, and the force is transmitted to the beam and the inner curved track, which drives the hollow spindle to rotate. It is transmitted from the compressed air air plate to each cylinder, and the position of the air inlet and outlet is changed to change the rotation direction of the main shaft. According to the rotation torque requirements of the load (valve), the number of cylinder combinations can be adjusted to drive the load (valve) to work.

The following aspects concerning the maintenance of the pneumatic valve should be paid attention to:

1. The service life of the pneumatic valve is prolonged and its reliable opening and closing is guaranteed by its maintenance.
2. Apply a little yellow dry oil, molybdenum disulfide or graphite powder to the thread of the stem, because there is friction between them.
3. Turn the handwheel regularly and apply a lubricant to the valve stem’s thread to avoid seizing for valves which are not opened or closed often.
4. The valve stem should be provided with a protective cover to avoid rain, snow, dust and rust for outdoor valves.
5. Lubricating oil should be provided for the gearbox on time.
6. Make the valve clean always.
7. Check and maintain the integrity of the other parts of the valve always. If the fixing nut of the handwheel falls off, it must be matched. Don't use the valve when the nut is not complete. Otherwise, the ends of the valve will be ground, making it not reliable and not being able to be operated.
8. Don't put any heavy objects on the valve and do not stand on the valve.
9. Clean the valve stem, especially the thread part. If the lubricant has been contaminated, replace it with a new one, because the dust contains hard debris, which is easy to wear the surface of the thread and valve stem, affecting the service life of the pneumatic valve.
